Had lots of interesting advice and discussion on blanking egr, when I posted as pisces63 (forgot password)
Finally decided to do it,but body of egr valve broke on trying to remove,so left in place, however egr pipe broke several thousand miles later, and the studs holding the egr pipe snapped,so...........tag welded blanking plate manifold end and folded and crimped egr pipe end, very heath Robinson but not much choice.
Roughly 1000 miles later turbo lost its characteristic whoosh noise and turbo push, but car pulling strong, and driving well, just no distinct turbo jolt.
Bought Wynn’s potion for turbo cleaning, added to tank,70 miles later, third of turbo whoosh noise restored, and a little distinct turbo push, but car still drives well.
Do you think that blocking egr has put more soot through the turbo,or is it possible the increased exhaust gas, entering the turbo has changed its performance characteristics,or perhaps its a dirty turbo regardless of egr being blocked.
Apologies for hairdresser whoosh.
Thanks,Richard.

The one that slides in part of the inlet manifold ( held on by 3 bolts ).

So you left that, and the egr pipe going from exhaust to inlet, both are now sealed up.

Just want to be on the same page as you..

Back of the engine, fits on the bulk head area Turbo boost/actuator this has a small rubber pipe coming off it, check this has not perished/split ..
