Hello,

I have started to do alot my miles on my 2011 clio 1.5DCI now that I have a new job which is a 60mile round commute pretty much all motorway driving. Going to get it serviced next month by and I am wondering if its worth getting the EGR cleaned as preventative maintenance?

cheers

Thanks guys, how much would you pay to get this done? or do you consider it a simple enough job to do yourselves? I have seen the threads of people doing this but not on the same car as I have so not sure if the EGR will be in the same place?

cheers

They tend to get sticky about 60,000 depending on how
they are driven so probably due.

Some thoughts......

If it ain't bust, don't fix it..... though to be fair, many EGRs do benefit from preventative.
Whether yours is one, dunno (got a picture), a lot depends on the type and how much gunge is being thrown at it.
Many garages do not like cleaning EGRs.... no guarantee on it working or lasting after the clean.
DIY cleaning seems to work well for many.
