Well how about that the diagnostic said to check the EGR!
Had been replaced after 45k miles, now at 73 it was totally coked up. Would explain a few stuttering starts recently when trying to make a swift getaway. The old cast iron pipe was also replaced under OTS - apparently that makes no difference at all since its blocked again in 30k.
Clearly the EGR needs to be cleaned every 18k miles (standard service interval, oil changes more often to protect the turbo).
Under testing there was a fuel leak and apparently its the Spill Rail? Anyone ever heard something similar? So that's being replaced.
Will watch and see how the turbo sounds with more breath @ 2k revs. . .
All in for £220. Should be a good test of the AA warranty ...
