Having read about EGR valve sticking and the problems it causes. I thought it best to have a look at mine. so armed with wd40 I cleaned off all the black sooty deposits from inside. To be honest I didnt check if I could lift the valve from its seat (I just sprayed with WD40) then left for 5mins. The point im making is it might not have been seized in the first place and seems to be running the same anyway. Things is, can you test the valve off the car, by putting current thru it etc - any ideas anyone. Having said all that I think I may have an impending intercooler failure - Masive amount of oil around the large 2inch alluminium pipe that runs horizontally at the base of the rad. Its been all steamed off and ill be investigating at the weekend. If any one has anything else I should be looking for to confirm this - cheers StevO

Hello,

Its probably not your intercooler thats about to fail, its your turbo..

take your intake pipe off your turbo and see if its covered in oil, and if you can move the impellor around, in and out or side to side.

regards

Murchin.
