I have a clio 1,5 dci 2004 and renault have always serviced it using ELF EVOLUTION SXR 5W-40 oil, Now I need to service it and they now recommend ELF EXCELLIUM LDX 5W-40 oil which they say has superceeded the previous.
Has anyone had experience with EXCELLIUM LDX or should I carry on with EVOLUTION SXR.
Mind you they do sell 5 ltr cans of EXCELLIUM LDX instead of the little 1ltr of EVOLUTION SXR at my dealers.

If the specs the same use either.
The excellium is probably their new improved oil, a bit like DAZ now gets your whites even whiter than white! Although the "Old" DAZ supposedly got your whites white!

You don't have to use ELF either if you are doing the servicing yourself, or even if another garage is doing it for you.
Tha main thing is that the oil meets the various standards!
