I'm considering upgrading my Engine (1.6, 8v) to either the 16v or getting all new, uprated parts on a spare engine(cams, pistons, etc) and dropping it in.

If I changed the engine, obviously I'd need the engine management, but would I need a new clutch/gearbox as well?

Also, could I change it over to a carburettor? Has anyone else done this at all?

If I went with the 'uprated engine parts', could anyone recommend anywhere for these parts? Google brings up quite a few, but if other people have had any joy with a specific company, it may make my life easier.

Any input would be welcome!

TBH, the Megane is so cheap now that you'd be better off selling what you have and buying another, more powerful version.
