Hi all, hope someone can help!

Have just bought 2.0 rt-x auto, very good mpv and pleased with the car overall however, the mph display is erratic and sometimes works and sometimes shows zero. Going over bumps doesn't seem to make a difference so could, be not for definate, rule out loose connection. Has anyone had this problem or any ideas to help?

Also have the 'not so unique' problem with the radio unit under the drivers seat - wet and doesn't work. Can't find one anywhere and I'm not paying dealer price so I thought maybe a standard radio may do the trick, one with a seperate display say our of a Laguna or Clio etc. Has anyone done this and can tell me if it works - interested on any thoughts anyone has.

Thanks very much
Cheers Gaz.

Hi Mat, yes I do still have the problem but I've been on to Renault and they've advised that whilst it could be the digital display it is unlikely, it is more likely to be the speedo sensor located on the top of the g/box.

I'm probably going to order one from them at approx £40 +vat and try it rather than spend £40 on a diagnosis - Renauylt reckon that it will be the sensor!!!!

I'll let you know if iot cures the problem

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Gaz, just looked on Euro Car Parts website and the speed sensor is 24 quid plus vat. Bit cheaper than Renault, but let me know how it goes.

regards,

Mat
