My Renault Trafic has needed it all topped up just 6 months after its annual service. The van is only 18 months old and has done very low mileage why is it using so much oil? Is this normal? The garage have checked it for leaks and found nothing untoward.

How much oil is "all"
Low miles ?
did you check with dip stick always check with dip stick,
any blue smoke?
if it sounds ok I would check the level on the dip stick
is up to the full line, then check it very regularly and see
if it does drop, keep a note of how much you top it up if any
it's still I take it under guarantee so if it is drinking the stuff
you don't want to be pulling it to bit's your self.
New and low mile engines can burn oil but not massive amounts.

Is it possible it wasn't fully topped up after the service? I have even heard some say that it is better to keep the levels as low as possible, since levels can rise during regen. Not a theory I subscribe to myself. Top it up and just keep an eye on it.
