Hi All

I currently have a Scenic 3 1.5 dci 2010. Runs lovely, starts ok seems to run perfect.

Last week I has the dreaded check injection system come up. So plugged the car into some obd software and it is showing EGT Sensor (p0545).

Does anyone know how to get to this? I have parted with a small forutne to get a replacement at £55 at the main dealers a couple of days ago..... its an expensive resistor!!

Any advice would be appreciated............ I know its used to determine gas temp for DPF etc etc

cheers
Tony

Can anyone please advise?

Many thanks Tony

Car is in the garage as I speak, been with him for 2 hours and no joy.
Un-pluged the two sensors that are showing to be faulty and kicked it in, no faults showing on dash...Weird
cleaned up the sensors then took it for a blast, as we touched 4500 revs "Check Injection" came on and it went into limp mode again.
Mechanic is now suspecting it could be the Turbo unit itself.
Pretty expensive part if that doesn't cure it
Fault that does come up when the light is on is turbine upstream temp sensor.
Surely when un-plugged this should through a fault up on the dash?
Quote for a new turbo unit is £500, which is half of what I thought it would be, and wouldn't mind if that was 100% going to cure it.
Back down to the garage now hoping he's sorted it
Bloody cars!!!!

Check the DPF readings,, Its putting the car in limp mode, to protect your engine.
See if it will allow him to do a regen, as engine only revs at 2200 rpm doing this,,
This will show if the sensor is faulty, as the dpf will not get up to temp..

The exhaust pressure gas pressure sensor can very easily be checked out or at least by a capable person. Why not check the dpf readings at the exhaust differential pressure sensor. What the readings are at koeo- idling & at 1500rpm It would be more helpful to his problem

Ours, he's not got the stuff to do a regen
Called Renault today and they want £ 96 just to check the soot levels and then they go from there
My Mech is as honest as the days long, how can we un-plug two sensors then run it and no faults show up on the dash???
This is the last Renault, and diesel i'll ever buy, loved it now hate it.
Rather than just go for the expensive option he's said that VW turbo's have this problem and it's cured by two bottles of Forte Turbo cleaner the an extended test drive as the turbo still works, just bottoms out at 4000 revs
Worth a try but he's adamant it's nothing to do with the DPF as I've just done a 400 mile round trip with no problems, although I didn't push it
Mate thanks for the input, much appreciated, you could be correct, time will tell.
Regarding the DPF, Forte also do a cleaner for that, two bottles in half a tank of fuel the tick over for 45 minutes, creates a mist on the DPF then blasts it out, apparently
As always if i get to the bottom of this i will report in
Cheers

Does anyone know if a 2012 Kangoo II 1.5dci have a DPF? The van is on 170k has been fault free except a circuit board on the alt, which was £60 by a local specialist.

The van would regularly travel from Gloucester to Birmingham once every 2 weeks as I would head up to the football but as Covid hit I haven't been doing that trip and have just been doing the run to work and back daily and the odd drive out but in all fairness probably not long enough or fast enough to get regen to kick in and to give it time to clean its self out..assuming it has a DPF??

The van starts sweet, drives sweet. Its been doing it for a week now and will come on once I pull off unless it didn't clear itself by the time I get home again. The spanner and electrical fault lights come on and could be on for 30 seconds or 10 mins but will always go out before I get to work or home. 2/10 times the lights come back on again on the same trip but this is rare.

I was thinking about the fact it hasn't been on a long drive for nearly a year now so maybe if I take it for a long drive will I catch this in time before it gets all clogged up and possible clean this out before buying new sensors that are a pig to get too by all accounts?

If anyone has some advice then I'm willing to listen.
P.S my cheap reader doesn't do force regen.

FOLLOW-ON FROM ABOVE POST

I remembered that back 3 weeks ago or so I did take the van out for a long 2hr drive to pick something up but back then I had no issues at all with any warning lights..

So today Wednesday 23rd I went and done a 2hr drive to the midlands and back again with a stopwatch recording the times the light would be on and off to see if I could get a long enough run without a light on to ensure that a regen would take place (again as with the above post awaiting conformation even if a 2012 Kangoo II has a DPF?). I have included the times below. As I was doing this you will see from some of the very short periods the light was on is due to I found that if I put my foot down when illuminated it would go out again instantly.

Joined Motorway with lights ON.

As you can see from above it was very sporadic to start with until about 30-40 mins in when I got solid times with it off. On the return, it was more consistent. Assuming it has a DPF and getting regen to start. I'd assume after a 2hr drive with one section being nearly a solid 30 mins without a light on would have helped the situation a little in cleaning the DPF out if it was clogged. But as I said before the van has regularly done this trip at least once every two weeks sometimes more. So I'd like to think it was clean to begin with and this may actually be down to a faulty sensor that is on its way out...?

Provided regen still activates when the warning lights are off for long then I will continue to drive this until I get it fixed after Christmas as I don't many garages will be open.

As above, if anyone would like to wade in with some advice, help or guidance on changing this sensor then please do as I'd really appreciate the help as I'm sure others would too if they ever find this thread.
