Hi all, when i first joined i`m sure i read posts about "faded roofs on the Espaces, i havent posted for a while i have been looking for a new car after not finding anything i like i decided to respray the car and experiment with sparying the roof of my 1994 Espace with a little help from a friend. and this is how it went.

(Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures i took some of them with my phone):

(Because we both hadnt tried this we decided to do all the sanding by hand and not use a DA/Sander)

After giving the car a quick wash down, i sanded the roof first with 320 grade sandpaper then again with 500 grade then once again with 1200 grade wet & dry.

Then once the sanded area was blown free of dust and cleaned we applied a coat of "Bar Coat" .

Then once it dried we applied 2 coats of 2k Primer

allowed it to dry and sanded the primer down with 1200 Grade wet & dry, cleaned the dust etc etc off and then applied the paint on top of the primer.

And finally the finished product at home.

This above was the second attempt at painting the roof the first time we didnt use the "Bar Coat" and got a bad reaction from the paint..

Hope this helps clear the faded roof painting matter up!

Fantastic job - the roof is the part I would've dreaded in case there were any drips from the gun. Top marks all round!
