I just had the n/s drive shaft replaced on my 2004 vivaro 1.9 t/d.6speed gearbox.(Renault engine&gearbox) The gearbox is now leaking oil.On reading my workshop manual it says that filling the gearbox through the breather pipe/valve is strictly prohibited on this model.I know the garage filled it in this way so could this have done any damage or could the oil leak be caused by a build up of pressure.Hope someone can help. Thanks

If its the 6-speed gearbox there is a separate filler hole and a special dipstick for checking the oil level.

Either over-filling or under-filling any gearbox can cause problems.

Time to take it to another garage that know what they are doing - me thinks.:)
