Hello,

before or just when the check gearbox message comes up on the display do you get a jolt from the gearbox? The fault to me sounds like it could be a faulty EVM solonoid or pressure regulation sensor, both of which are common faults on the 4 speed DPO automatic gearbox which is fitted to your Grand Scenic. You do not say how old your Grand Scenic is, but as its a common fault even if the car is out of warranty I would ring up RCS explain to them the fault and ask if they will pay for or contribute towards the repair costs. Failing that your best bet will be to take your Grand Scenic to an automatic transmission specialists. Some are members of Federation Of Automatic Transmission Engineers (FATE). For more info visit www.fedauto.co.uk.

Cheers.

Harry.

it is a 2005 tiptronic gear box with around 69000 miles on clock it seams to struggle a wee bit and drop bt not like the last time. it was in the renult garage with a similar prob exactly a year ago and it took a month backwards and forwards to the garage for it to be fixed they replaced everything except the gearbox the last time
