hi im having a problem with my heater in my 2005 megane dci car . when heater is set to hot or halfway coldhot its fine no matter what speed its on . but when i move it too cold at its coldest setting a burning smell exits and smoke starts exiting too from near the passenger footwell . nothing blows so i move the control back halfway between hot and cold and its fine again . what is this problem ?

Sounds like either the blower motor, it ballast resistotrs or wiring loom is failing - I suggest you get it checked before it catches fire.

As a matter of interest when was the pollen filter last changed?

just found my problem !!! its a bad connection of a wire going onto a plug down by the passengers footwell . only when the coldest setting is selected is that its starts burning the wire . its a loose connection so i will replace plug . thanks for the help to anyone who replied

i only have the car a week so i dont know when the pollen filter was last changed . where exactly is it located so i can change it ?
