My Renault Espace. It has just been fitted with a new engine after the rings completely went whilst I was driving.
No engine noise, as a warning, but the garage found the compressions to be over 25% down on what they should be, result the new engine. It had shown itself by burning excessive amount of oil during it's last few miles, large volumous amounts of blue smoke from the exhaust. It has only 36000 miles on the clock. The gargage fitted this new engine together with a new exhaust and turbo. ( It is petrol driven). They were advised not to fit a new catalytic convertor, just to clean the existing one. Took car for MOT, failed on emissions, and now car back in garage to have new catalytic convertor. Car also keeps having the toxic fume filter warning light coming on for periods of time!!! Anybody else had similar problems or am I just unlucky?

Hello & Welcome to the Forums Davisharris.

Very unlucky tho a number of Members have had engines replaced on relatively new cars.

What year is your Espace, Was all this work covered by a warranty.
