This must have something to do with he news a few weeks ago that hospitals were going to relax the rules on mobile phones.

Imagine the situation, you have invested tens of millions in providing TV's and phones at every bedside and then, whilst still £80 million in debt you find out that the hospitals are going to remove one of your revenue streams. You can bet your life that the NHS Trust are taking a piece of the action too.

Whilst I don't agree with it I think I would be quickly trying to recoup some of that investment too!

I heard this on the radio on the way into work. They are raising it from 10p to 26p per min. As someone who is not long out of hospital I think it is bloody shocking (especially since the nurses get annoyed at you when they find you talking on your mobile in the ward!)

Shocking ...captive audience, I do not use the phone during hospital stays, But I can understand how some would need to do so .
