how do you check the transmission fluid on a espace 2.0 16v 2000 plate

Assuming its the JB5 gearbox you have? With the car on level ground there is a plastic plug with 2 lugs that unscrews from the front towards the bottom of the gear box which is where you fill the gearbox until the oil starts to run out.
