As you may notice from my threads of the past, noises do my head in. My car's a Megane II Sport Tourer with fixed roof rails.
The following noise, is currently doing my head in...:
At speeds between 30mph & 60mph there's a humming wind noise coming from the rear drivers side area, which is completely wind-dependant, if that makes sense. It only occurs when windy and is not a bearing (both rears are new anyway) or anything mechanical.
I thought at first it may have been the fuel filler cap - I applied some silicone grease around the seal which didn't help so it isn't that.
Then I thought it may be the roof rails, but the plugs in the top of the roof rails are neatly in place and there's nowhere that wind can get in.
Then I thought it may be the sunroof, but my last Megane Sports Tourer (which did not have a sunroof) had exactly the same noise.
I'm now thinking it may be coming from under the car, or maybe wind is getting in around the rear door handle? I CANNOT find it!!
It's definitely coming from towards the rear because I can hear it very clearly and louder when I open the rear drivers side window.
I wondered if anyone else has had this problem or if anybody had any suggestions?
Please help, any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated!
