What is the idel speed suppose to be on a Clio 172? Should it be on the DOT just above the 5 or just under the 10?

Not sure about the 172 but the norm for most cars is 800-900rpm

The 172's Idle should be at between approx 750 rpm at operating temp, you'll never see this properly on the rev counter though, it will normally show just above the 500 mark.
