I've had a donor engine fitted and am being told it is incompatible with my old ECU.
Information I have so far:

My Engine was a F9Q – EDC 15
Donor Engine F9Q – EDC 16

Now the problem (I’m told) is mapping/registering the injectors, they are not compatible with my old ECU, any advise please – do I need a newer ECU, should I fit my old injectors (bear in mind this engine had a major turbo failure destroying a piston 130k miles)

Many Thanks

Rich

P.S. Please accept appologies if this should be in engine section

The injectors on the newer F9Q engines are coded. So you put the old injectors into the new engine.. They must be located in the same cylinder position they were removed from.

If the defective piston has damaged the injector pintle then a new injector will be required. However the new injector will need programming to the vehicle.

Note that the ECU's cannot be interchanged between vehicle model years or types..
