My only working Kangoo key has fully given up the ghost. The LED doesn't light when button is pressed, the central locking doesn't work (obviously), and the immobiliser stays on.

I thought the switch might be at fault so I desoldered a known working switch from another ebay key and soldered it onto the original key. Still no LED when the button is pressed... :loser:

Anyway, my question is this: if I take the transponder chip off the original key and solder it onto my ebay key, should I be back in business? Has anybody tried this who might be able to advise?

P.S. I take it that the transponder is the item arrowed in the photo below?
