Well, my youngest was due to be moved to home working tomorrow.
Her company services and repairs emergency generators (hospitals, supermarkets, warehouses etc)
She went out at 7.45, home at 8.30 with all her computer, monitors, files, stuffed into the back of her car.
She's now set up in her bedroom, moaning bitterly that she doesn't want her "office" in there.
Shame.

When is a lockdown not a lockdown? I live in a small village with a country walkway running through it - now that everyone is to stay at home, but is allowed out once a day to shop, for a walk or with the dog, there are more people out and about here than usual!!

My wife insisted on a walk anyway, but I turned back..... better safe than sorry?

Applause to the Welsh, specifically a small engineering firm called CR Clarke and a doctor who approached them with an idea.
Working with a consultant from Carmarthen they have developed a type of ventilator to help Covid victims breath and reduce the load on full blown ventilators and specialist nurses.
3 days to design, develop and build a prototype plus test it in hospitals.
Approved for use by Welsh NHS.
Now building 100 a day.
Who says Britain cannot rally when the need arises.

Tell you what lads, if someone could arrange the logistics and shipping, I'll happily sit in my shed and assemble a few.

Six month extension on MOTs from 30th March.
Official.
Not sure how this will impact getting road tax but have to assume requirement for valid MOT will be dropped for the duration.

Phew! That'll give me time to get some work done. Mine's due soon and I know it'll fail in its current state. I don't fancy catching a coronovirus bus to and from work. I'll put it in before the 6 months though if I can as there'll be a huge backlog for garages to get through at the end of this period.

Yeah, not sure how it will work out once restrictions are eased.
First one in my household is due mid August so a bit of time for things to work out before I need to worry.

Simplest way is for any MoT due to expire after March 30th to remain valid until September 30th.

Not sure I'd be overly fussed as long as they do not have any vulnerable people in their household, ie aged or underlying conditions.
And if they are both okay with it, no point SIL doing the honourable thing if daughter is going to melt down with worry.
Younger and fitter you are there does seem a far better chance of survival, although papers report those who don't.

Also probably safer working in a supervised health environment than joining the hordes of temporary workers now being taken on at the supermarkets. The further away from the general public shopping the better.
