I have a Renault Clio 1998 model which has central locking. The remote to lock/unlock the car has stopped working.I now open/close manually. I took the key to a lock smith who said that the key needs to be reprogrammed so that the car and remote "read" each other. Does this sound correct and where could I go to do this? FYI I first changed the batteries!

if you have the cars manual it should tell you how to re-sync the key worth trying that first before you pay out cash at renault
