I've just changed the coolant temperature sensor on my 1996 2.2D Laguna because the gauge was behaving erratically.

I noticed that were two senders, the rearmost one with the brown top being for the gauge. There is another sender with a white plug in front of it and I was wondering what it was for.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.

I thought the second sensor may be for the management system. I was thinking that if one sensor was faulty then the other may be as well. Do you know how I would check to see if the engine management water temperature sensor was working correctly?

Ta :)

If you have access to a diagnostic tool then you will be able to read the temperatures etc..
