The + volume doesn't work on my stereo controls. I I've sourced a new one to swAp it over. Is there a guide on here how to chane it? Is it simple? I have searched but can't find a thread on the subject?

yes its simple to do.
remopve the lower column cover, turn wheel till you can see control clearly, then undo retaining screw, replace. :d
