The passenger door lock on my 2007 Laguna 3 has been slowly dying and has now given up all together. Im guessing its the lock mech itself?

Has anyone done one on this car? Is it the same mech as the Lag 2 or Meg 3? Renault want 120+ vat just for the lock so I think I'll be trying this myself - did one on a LAg 2 a few years ago that wasn't too bad.

How is it dying? My passenger door wouldn't open when unlocked but I could open it from the inside and then it opened fine until I locked the door again. I sprayed the door switch with wd40 and put it back together again and this seemed to solve the problem :d.

Mine does exactly the same except it wont lock unless you push the button on the fob twice to dealock it. Does yours do that?

Emm I never checked that on my as I normally dead lock the car. But mine is working fine now after spraying the switch which was a bit damp.. for a change with renaults :crazy: The other thing I noticed was that the cable running from the inside door handle to the lock had to hang down or else the door wouldn't open after the car had been dead locked but it was fine after one lock . But it all seems to be working now. I'll double check tomorrow if it stays open after locking the door once.

OK - So, my door lock is reliably unlocking again now (all by itself) but it wont lock unless its deadlocked. Im hoping it means the door lock mechanism itself is ok.

There's no obvious switch on the lag 3 doors (im assuming you mean the pressure swich usually at the bottom of the A pillar that senses when the door is shut?) so ill have to pull the door card off.

This bit :d! And I didnt have to take my whole door panel off just lift the fabric bit up in order to get at it. I don't know what way the laguna door panel comes off I'm afraid so, I'm not sure if you'll have to take the whole door panel off

Hi Huw, I have got exactly the same problem, passenger door only locked on second deadlock fob press and now it is not opening all the time using fob. Did you manage to solve the problem and how ?

I'm no mechanic but wondering if I could try to fix myself.

Appreciate this an old thread but did anyone find a solution??

I have a 2011 Laguna III and am experiencing the same issue. Passenger side double locks happily every time but won't lock on a single press and only (very) occasionally unlocks. Just spent 3 hours replacing the lock mechanism and it does exactly the same. Got the part from ebay so there is a chance it was faulty but seems coincidental that it behaves identically.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My laguna3 passenger door wont unlock with the buttons on the key card.... (well it does sometimes after loads of pressing the button)
is it likely to be electrical or mechanical... any ideas.

I have the same problem on both front doors on my 2009 hatch.

The front passenger started to occasionally not open using the handle and then stopped working completely. I also found that it won't lock on a single press of the remote or by proximity, and has to be double locked and then opened from inside. Tried squirting with WD40, but didn't work.

Now the driver's side has also failed as well. I have replaced lock mechanism with a new one and it still doesn't work, again have to open from the inside. Also I have now discovered that the emergency lock on the passenger side also doesn't now unlock the doors - although it will lock.

I have read for fault codes after speaking to a local specialist, but nothing showing. The dealer thinks it should now work having replaced the lock mech. Although they did then suggest the handle mechanism itself as it has the sensor for the proximity key, this is another £110, so don't really want to go down that route if it still doesn't fix the issue.

Any fresh ideas??
