Hello all.

I have a standard Blaupunkt radio cassette player (4x6w) in my Laguna, which I need to change. Can I swap it for my Sony CD player,, and if so, will the steering column control stick still work? If not, could anyone recommend I GOOD replacement (that I might be able to find on Ebay!) that I can still use the column control gizmo with. As a minimum, I'm after RDS and CD player.

Yours optimistically,
Graham

Depending on the model and age of the Sony unit, you should be able to buy a wiring adaptor so the steering wheel controls are functional. If you have a head up display seperate to the radio, this will remain blank or just dispaly the stereo makers name.

Adaptors are available from any decent car audio specialist,eBay or Halfords.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply. I'm impressed that the control stick will work with other units. It's a two year old Sony unit. Will the wiring adaptor be a big obvious thing? And... er.. what's a head up display?! Sorry for my ignorance..

Regards,
Graham

Hi grazzum. What Sony head unit do you have? I ask because I have some adaptor leads, for the purpose you require, that I had in my previous Lag (2.2RND '97) top run a Sony head unit and steering stalk. They cost me £35 in total but I would be willing to sell them to you for £15.

Let me know:)

hello scatz.
The unit is a Sony cdx s2000. Usable with that, do you think? It is quite a good unit for it's price.

The head unit that I had used the adaptor on was a CDX - S2200 so they would work with your head unit.

If you want the adaptor that I have can you send me an email via my profile so we can discuss it further. I had tried to email you this way but you do not have this function enabled.

Cheers

Dan:)

Hi Dan.
Yep, I would be interested in buying the adaptor from you. Hopefully it's suitably simple to fit...
I couldn't contact you by profile either though, so best to email me at: [email protected]

thnaks very much,
