Hello all,

I really hope that someone out there can shed some light on the problem I have with an 'M' Reg 3.0L Laguna auto.

The gearbox changes up and down fine and the Kickdown works ok, BUT, When stationary, in D, there is no creep forward and it rolls back on hills. If you accelerate normally from stationary, it thumps in to gear. If you accelarate slowly and gradually bring the revs up to about 1300, it pulls away fine.

It works fine backwards!!

Any ideas more than welcome and thanks very much in anticipation....

Hi there, thanks for replying so quickly.

I probably sound a bit stupid - how do you check the level of the atf???

What are the consequences of the forward clutch wearing if that is the problem?? Is it fixable????

Not too sure on the Lag, my old Clio has a dipstick for the ATF (Auto Transmission Fluid). The gearbox actually has 2 clutches, 1 forward & 1 reverse. They can be replaced if they have worn, but as with all things auto related not the cheapest job, mine cost £600 when done a couple of years back, but then on a 15 yr old car that still works out cheaper than having had the clutch done a couple of times on a manual.

Hi again!

Yeah, there's no dipstick on the lagoona, that I can see anyway!

I suppose if it's £600, then it's chuck the car away time!

Would old atf make it not find 1st gear??

Thanks again...
