I've just been quoted £883 for a cam belt change by Suttons, the local Renault dealer, on my 1999 V6 Renault Laguna!! I almost fainted! Does anybody know anyone in the Warwick area that would be able to do this for me at a more realistic price?
Cheers
Andy

you could probably get the timing belt and tensioner off of ebay for around 100 quid then its just getting a garage to fit it; the job should only take a couple of hours at a mechanics typical labour rate of 30-40 quid an hour?

Renault reckon it's a 6 hour job and every garage i've spoken to won't go near a V6 as it's too complicated. You also apparently need a special locking tool.
Looks like i've got to pay the extortionate renault fee of over £100 per hour. :(

them V6 engines are a nightmare to do cambelts on. not much room to work with and i would say around a 4-6hour job. ya lucky its not a V6 espace as the engine needs to b taken out in order to do the belt on them :p
