I'm sure someone has answered this before but I can't find it. My 53 plate Laguna II 1.9 dci in my opinion has a first gear ratio that is too high. If I have four people in the car starting up a slope requires, for me anyway, too much easing of the clutch. Towing is a big test of skill if anything like 750kg is in the trailer. The rest of the ratios are fine. I know that lowering the first gear will make a bigger step for 1 to 2, but as it will go down very low in 2nd I don't see this as a problem. Is there a box where I could have the same 6th gear ratio but a lower 1st, or a way to acheive this?
