HI, I have just bought a 2002 laguna 1.9dci with the following faults
1, central locking will only unlock drivers door but will lock all doors.
2, both front electric windows will not operate but back are fine.
3, electric sunroof will not operate.
i have check the first most obvious being the fuses which are all ok. any ideas ?, is this a common fault.

When you press the button on the keycard to open once the car it only open the drivers door - press it twice and it opens all doors including the boot and fuel cap:)

When you say the rear electic windows arent working ? do you mean they dont work from the switches in the rear doors or at all ?

On the Laguna II's there is a electronic child lock switch on the drivers door below the 4 electric windows switches. If this is activated then this will prevent the rear windows being wound down and the rear doors from being opened from inside.

It's the front windows that aren't working, not the backs.

You are right a bout the lock switch though - although you can still operate the rear windows from the switches in the front, it is only the rear switches that are disabled!

Faulty window regulators are a common problem on the Laguna - you may find that both have failed!

Where did you buy the car, was it from a garage or privately?
If you bought from a garage take it back to them, as they should fix it.

Many thanks central locking is working fine, my mistake, but have now realised that both front door mirrors dont work as well as the front windows & sunroof, i thought they might be linked or is there a precedure to check any of the above.
I bought the car privately so no come back

Sunroof

Sunroof fix as follows:- Turn roof control knob fully clockwise and press and hold in for approx 10 secs, then turn anti clockwise, press and hold for same. Roof should do some wacky adjustments and reset whilst you are pressing said knob. You will probably find that the windows work after this as they are electrically conected for auto shut when locking the car.:d

Many thanks for all info, i have since removed & tested switches & connections which all seemed o.k., then removed the sunroof switch assy to test & realised the motor is missing so now trauling the scrap yards to find a motor which might eradicate a couple of other problems. I had however noticed that in the drivers side fuse box there is 1 missing from the l/h side 2nd down any ideas what it is for, did try fitting a fuse but there was a spark so i wont try that again.

If you've just bought the car, and the sunroof motor is missing then I would get straight back to where you've bought it from (assuming it wasnt a private sale) demanding to know why the sunroof motor is missing. Arent dealers meant to check that everything works before selling a car

Your totally within your rights.

It was a private sale, but just fitted a unit of a scrap 2006 laguna which seems to work fine but not rectified any other faults.

dodgy laguna window

I had on a similar problem on my Laguna the n\s front stuck down in a thunderstorm in france i managed to get get it back up by pulling up the window whilst my girlfriend was pressing the button.Took it back under warranty and was told it was not covered but could be fixed for £336

I read on this forum about lubricating the cables which i did it was only slightly better ,i put my hand up around the motor and could feel strands of wire i then the pulled off as many as i could it then went up and down and was very noisy.

i did a bit of surfing on ebay i found regulators for sale without motors for around (£50 plus £10 postage) fit your own motor to the regulator,
I then went of to my local German Swedish and French car parts they have complete regulators with motors for £73 only an extra £13 for a new motor i bought one and with the help of mate had it fiited in 30 mins.

Well done Bob - it definately is worth trying alternative sources - I fitted one for a mate who got one from the same people - worked just fine - was a bit noisier than the Renault one but at the savings it's worth living with.:)
