Has anyone had problems with an oil seal wich popped out of the offside engine on 2 occasions, leaking oil at a high rate of knots? Scary stuff on a motorway!
Had it replaced twice at main dealer.
ps its a 2.2 dci laguna
Hi Nance - without knowing exactly what engine you have it's difficult to tell but generally oil seals only pop out because of internal pressure - check the engine breather pipes to see if all are clean and clear.
Just had a bill of close to £1,000 to rectify a blown oil seal. Renault will contribute 30%, but I can't find out if this a common problem or if anyone has had more luck with Renault. I have the same model a 2.2 DCI, 3 years old.
It may not solve the problem and stop it happening again.
There have been cases of the engines pressurising inside due to a cracked inlet manifold on the 2.2 dCi,but this is usually shown by the dipstick blowing out........but it could be the cause of your oil seal problem.
