Hi folks
Has anyone had problems with an oil seal wich popped out of the offside engine on 2 occasions, leaking oil at a high rate of knots? Scary stuff on a motorway!
Had it replaced twice at main dealer.
Cheers nanee:( :( :(
ps its a 2.2 dci laguna

Hi there Nanee and welcome to Renault Forums, if you can give more details of your car and engine type I'm sure one of the tech guys will give you advice soon.

Hi Nance - without knowing exactly what engine you have it's difficult to tell but generally oil seals only pop out because of internal pressure - check the engine breather pipes to see if all are clean and clear.:)

Just had a bill of close to £1,000 to rectify a blown oil seal. Renault will contribute 30%, but I can't find out if this a common problem or if anyone has had more luck with Renault. I have the same model a 2.2 DCI, 3 years old.

It may not solve the problem and stop it happening again.

Hello and welcome to the forum.:)

There have been cases of the engines pressurising inside due to a cracked inlet manifold on the 2.2 dCi,but this is usually shown by the dipstick blowing out........but it could be the cause of your oil seal problem.:(
