Picked up my car (Laguna II 1.6 2001) yesterday after having a lower suspension arm replaced and have found since that the car struggles to start. Must be coincidence as they didn’t need to touch the engine.

When you insert the card and press the start button the car makes the normal start noise but doesn’t catch for about 4/5 seconds and then turns over, really sounds like it needs help.

I’ve had cars that won’t turn over because of a low battery but this sounds different, like it’s trying to start and then finally does.

Any suggestions what this could be?

Cheers
Richard

Had similar symptoms on our 2.0 IDE laguna (2002 model) Eventually the car wouldn't start at all. You can change the sensor yourself but it takes about 3-5 hours as you need to remove a fair few hose clips and part of the intake duct to get ot the sensor. If your taking the old one out change it with a new one and save the hassle of doing it again later.
