Hello, I have a problem. I am in France and my key card is somewhere on the ski slopes. Can anyone advise if there is an emergency replacement service. Hoping that as I am in france the outcome may be quicker than if I'm in England? Thank you.

Have you tried your insurance company?
As said you may have key cover on your insurance failing that it takes a week or so to get a new key if you have the right documentation ..might be better looking for a company who can break into car and hack the ECU to clone you a key ... had to do that with a VW couple of years ago in Belgium cost me about 300euro

You may also have key cover through your breakdown service, although I doubt either this or insurance would minimise any delay.

Unfortunately my uk insurance doesn't cover me for keys lost abroad. I have standard euro RAC cover but that doesn't cover keys. I've been in contact with main Renault dealer in Albertville who suggested Renaut assist but my car is 9 years old so that's no good either. Basically I need to repatriate my car to the uk as a new set of key cards will take minimum 3 days but I also need my v5 which is in London. Sum total of my misfortune is totalling over 3k to get me, my family and my car home. I think that's worth more than the current market value of my car!

There will be a specialist company out there that should be able to break into car and clone a key ...ask a local garage

Best I can suggest is leave car.
EasyJet, RyanAir or other available budget airline to get family home.
Sort new keys once V5 etc got at home.
Fly back to collect.

Questions for sake of brainstorming.
Any spare keys at home that someone could get and courier out?
Or could someone courier V5 so you can get local dealers to sort replacement key?
Would a fax or email copy suffice?
Can local dealers access enough info via DVLA and or your local dealers to show "ownership"
Are they amenable to bribes ?
