Hi guys, Ive recently had my traffics media nav evolution upgraded to the latest software, but since the update the sound volume doesnt go any louder past number 21 and the overall sound quality isnt as good as before. ive been told by my friend in renault that this has been written into the latest software purposely by renault to save the speakers? isit possible to install the older software (8.0.5) back onto to my media nav to regain the original quality??
thanks in advance!

I dont the exact specifics with the Renaul Media Nav, but when you do a firmware update ( on anything) that is a backward step to what is installed, you will be asked to confirm this is what you want to do before it will install it, but it should install it if that is what the user wants, its whether you can get you hands on a genuine version of the 8.0.5 firmware, the last you want is a dodgy copy which bricks your system.

In MN1 & MN2 there is possibility to downgrade without any problem using of course orginal firmwares.
I done this more then 50 times playing with these units.
Official is possible only to upgrade firmware.
Regarding sound is not true.
I upgtade all MN2 units to 9.1.3 as soon arrives to me and there no one have problems with sound in speakers.
Perhaps you play in settings.

Hi,
Did you get anywhere with this? I updated 3 or 4 months ago & immediately noticed that the volume wasn't nearly as loud as it was before.I then restored to factory settings but the volume issue remains!

If anyone has a fix to this it would be much appreciated!

It's possible to downgrade to 8.0.5, but perhaps you play with other parameters, because the upgrade at 9.1.3 bring better the system.

The system is better and the sound quality is better. But i want more control over equalizer than the computer doing it for me. I'll looked everyone with no luck for the 8.0.5 or 7 version

Thank you very much Neek🥳. I have downgraded to 7.0.5 and the system doesn't interfere with my volume anymore.

Hi
Just out of curiosity, was it a genuine Renault update that you installed or what is a free one from the Internet? I have same issue, volume nowhere near loud enough!

Thanks

9.1.3 the bass was for sure increased. But I agree, sound quality isn't on par with 8.0.5. @NeeK, it's down to sound preference. Everyone's hearing is different. Your not wrong and neither is poster.

I know for sure. If I connect my Samsung up while running 9.1.3. Samsung Dolby just over boosts the bass frequency. It makes the sound distorted.

However, while running 8.0.5. The frequency is lower and thus decreasing distortion.

On the flip side - yes, 9.1.3 runs better than 8.0.3. In reality, Renault's medianavs are sub-par at best. MediaNav will never stack up against the likes of Sony or Pioneer.

Sorry, the update for maps etc. Ever since I installed it myself the volume hasn't been the same so hopefully if I pay for the one direct from Renault, it'll fix it.
? You can get the official update via Renault MediaNav program. Just take the info from your medianav and plug your USB into your computer and let Renault's program update your files to 9.1.3. Or maybe you know this already and that's why your trying to downgrade.
