Hi guys, Ive recently had my traffics media nav evolution upgraded to the latest software, but since the update the sound volume doesnt go any louder past number 21 and the overall sound quality isnt as good as before. ive been told by my friend in renault that this has been written into the latest software purposely by renault to save the speakers? isit possible to install the older software (8.0.5) back onto to my media nav to regain the original quality??
thanks in advance!

I dont the exact specifics with the Renaul Media Nav, but when you do a firmware update ( on anything) that is a backward step to what is installed, you will be asked to confirm this is what you want to do before it will install it, but it should install it if that is what the user wants, its whether you can get you hands on a genuine version of the 8.0.5 firmware, the last you want is a dodgy copy which bricks your system.

In MN1 & MN2 there is possibility to downgrade without any problem using of course orginal firmwares.
I done this more then 50 times playing with these units.
Official is possible only to upgrade firmware.
Regarding sound is not true.
I upgtade all MN2 units to 9.1.3 as soon arrives to me and there no one have problems with sound in speakers.
Perhaps you play in settings.

You didn't look where need or you didn't ask right person. :)
Here down you have:

MN2 Upgrade to fake 5.0.0 this is first step in dowgrade.

MediaNav Evolution 7.0.5
7.0.5 - 20161102_Renault_Dacia_OS_Update

MediaNav Evolution 8.0.5
8.0.5 - 20170523_Renault_Dacia_OS_Update

Good luck and enjoy.
Dear friend!
This post is from 2020 so I have no idea if you will see this message.
But I would like to thank you immensely for your support.
I'm from Brazil, and here I tried to help even at Renault stores, I sent an email to the company... But nobody was able to help me.
I ended up finding this solution on a French forum, however, despite asking for the file, it was not granted.
And suddenly, I found this site through google and my salvation to recover my MN came up.
Thank you very much! Thank you very much! 😘

9.1.3 the bass was for sure increased. But I agree, sound quality isn't on par with 8.0.5. @NeeK, it's down to sound preference. Everyone's hearing is different. Your not wrong and neither is poster.

I know for sure. If I connect my Samsung up while running 9.1.3. Samsung Dolby just over boosts the bass frequency. It makes the sound distorted.

However, while running 8.0.5. The frequency is lower and thus decreasing distortion.

On the flip side - yes, 9.1.3 runs better than 8.0.3. In reality, Renault's medianavs are sub-par at best. MediaNav will never stack up against the likes of Sony or Pioneer.

Thanks a lot for all these infos.

Last thing before I downgrade, I saw that when downgrading with fake 5.0.0 and upgrading to 8.0.5, two problems occurs.
First is the ITaskMng windows that pops up when the Media Nav is booting:
Second is a pop up telling that its impossible to use the navigation because of the map licence:

Can you confirm that the files provided by @NeeK in page 1 of this thread do not cause these problems?

clio974 alias RGMaster3 if I don't mistake.
The problems occur in your unit because of additional software what you had installed. In original units these doesn't exist.
And the problem of not opening navigation is because license is not recognizing the map files added in various ways, not official, or even license wrong. That is normal when you install a new firmware to put original files in the right places.

Hi guys, I recently moved from a 2017 trafic to a 2021 trafic and the medianav system turns the volume down past volume 19.. what the hell is going on? My old van used to have a banging sounds system and the new one looks like the same hardware but maybe software not allowing high levels of music? Can I do the downgrade with out bricking my unit and will the reversing camera still work?

You need to find your software version. If you have the latest 9.1.3, you should downgrade to 8.0.5 which is the last version to have the natural and loud sound settings.
But I'm reading that you got the 2021 Traffic and I don't think it's the same old Media Nav like us. If it is, just downgrade. Sorry if the English is not perfect, in French.

Hello,
I own a Dacia Duster (2016 model) with MediaNav Evolution, firmware version 5.2.8,
and I have some questions:
1)Should I upgrade to version 8.0.5? because I read 9.1.3 has issues with the sound quality.
2)What are the differences between 5.2.8 and 8.0.5?
3)Does 8.0.5 make the interface a bit faster and more responsive?
4)Is there a version that supports video playback? AVI or MP4?
5)I also found out about Menaco, an alternative to MediaNav Evolution. Has anyone tried this? Is it as good as it claims to be?
Thank you all in advance!
