Hi,

Had this problem for some time but has started to get worse. At idle the engine shakes quite dramatically almost as if on three cylinders. You only have to touch the throttle and the engine seems to sort itself out. Whilst I first thought engine mounts Im now not sure as turnign the air con ON picks up the idle a little and stops the shaking. It has also started to misfire slightly under very low revs with little acceleration but NOT under load.

I have had to do the whole EGR clean out (and blanking off eventually) on a previous car but dont remember the symptoms being like this.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would have a check of the engine mount on the drivers side these are common for for failing have a look.

At what RPM does your car idle at, both in gear and at neutral?

My car had a very nasty idle and it turned out it was the egr valve but I also had a light on, on the dash!

Its down at around 800 rpm. Im not sure whether its two separate issues. One causing the low idle and then the engine mounts are beginning to give up as a result of the low wobbly idle.

What do you think?
