can any one help me i got a Megane ii on a 04 plate 1.6i

and laterly started juddering and drinking the petrol it
sounds like it misfiring
i have done a service on it my self changed plugs oil and
oil filter but apart from that i aint touched any thing else

there is a warning light on the dashboard that on now
i have looked in the haynes book but says nothing about it
this one



any help on this would be helpfull

p.s. some one said it could be the coils but i aint tryed them
yet

Welcome to the forum.:)

It definately sounds like a coil problem,and sometimes Renault will replace them free of charge as there are known issues with them.One problem might be the fact that you have serviced the car yourself,so they may reject your claim.:(

I would contact them and see what they say,if they won't replace them then buy some after market Beru coils and fit them yourself.They are around £30 each and it's best to replace them all at the same time.

The light you see on the dash board is the engine management light and I suspect this has been triggered by the ECU sensing that the engine is misfiring.If you replace the coils and cure the misfire the light will go out.

I would avoid driving the car if at all possible as the unburnt fuel will damage the catalytic converter in the exhaust system adding to your problems.....

GOT IT SORTED OUT FINALLY

it was one of the coils playing up so changed it
and it running sweet again

thanks for the help ..
