Here she is!

Okay, it's not a great pic and she could do with a wax but none-the-less - it's my car!
I have spent a small fortune on her in the short time I have 'inherited' her from my father. He used her for long weekend trips frequently and she ever once was a problem for him but as soon as i've had her the heater matrix now no longer functions, i've had both coils replaced, she failed her MOT on emissions following bad fuel which burnt out the oxygen sensor and caused her to backfire, misfire etc and in turn literally blew the insides out of the catalytic converter.
I also discovered the jack is buggered (for want of a better word!) and when I went to ASM to try and explain the silly jacking arrangement we have where we have to fit our wheel brace inside it to operate it they said they'd never heard of a jack like it! So I promptly pointe dout that I have seen a Megane in their scrap yard and would they be so kind as to go get the jack out of it! hehe Needless to say - it wa sthe right jack and now works well!
But despite all the trouble I've had with her I still love her and hope to have her for quite a few years yet and maybe in a year or 2 i'll get round to having that heater matrix replaced too. I'll just make sure to wear thick coat, hat and gloves in winter!
I recently took her round a safari park in the heat wave we're having and lesser cars were boiling over and dying but my Megane made me proud and trundled on - TWICE round the park (my son's idea!) and the journey took us approx 3 hours - never once getting out of second gear!
I have recently changed to a newly opened Renault specialist garage in my area and funnily enough the mechanic who works on my car is the one who prepared my Megane for sale - he remembers the registration number! I am her third owner - the first was a vicar or something, the second was my father and when my husband left me and took our Volvo my dad passed the Megane onto me.
I took her to Wales last year and hope to again this year (camping), maybe we should have club stickers or something and then when we're all stuck on the motorways this summer we'll be able to know who we all are! lol

Can't wait to see everyone elses!
Jackie

Wow Bugs! Love your cars - kinda makes mine feel insignificant! lol
It must be so nice to have the roof down and cruise along too.
I used to have a Rover SD1 and kitted it out with body kit, tinted windows, adjusted the suspension, tinkered with the engine (more oomph - less MPG! lol) but I doubt i'll be jazzing up my Megane - i'm trying to act wise and old nowadays, although I do think Meganes can look quite stunning tarted up a bit - like your old car. Looks very nice! :d

This is my 2001 megane 1.9DCI.
I'm putting a sierra cosworth intercooler just behing the front bumper and rocking the radiator back a little just to make room. I'm then going to us stainless steel pipe instead of the plastic standard stuff taking both pipes to the front passenger side then following the same route.
Then where the standard intercooler was am putting a air filter cone and taking that to the front of the airbox but removing the filter to let it flow easier.
I also plan to get an exhaust but still sourcing one in the area.
Then a dump valve, and to top it all off it's off to K-tec for a custom remap £325 + vat.

I'm sure they are ok :) At first glance I thought they were on the wrong side :)

Would you mind if I posted the pic in a thread to see what others say ?

heres a pic of our latest beastie. Upgraded from a '99 clio 1.6 rxe to this. 02 registered 1.6i 16v expression. The interior spec is almost identical to the old clio. But just a wee bit bigger and more comfortable on the longer runs ;)
