Ive just changed the rear brake discs and pads on 2009 Megane Coupe 1.5DCi

To change the brakes I disengaged the electrical handbrake from inside the car. Job done but when trying to start the car it won’t start and it’s flashing Apply Parking Brake on the dash. There is no red light on the parking brake and I can’t engage or disengage it.

Car battery is showing 50%. I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds but the fault is still there.

Any ideas? Does the electric parking brake need resetting after changing the brakes?

Try charging the battery fully. Low battery can and will cause loads of gremlins.

Put a jump pack on the battery and the car started, good shout :)

it’s still showing apply handbrake and beeping, even though it’s applied.

Try the reset procedure

Door open, key card in.
In neutral.
Don't touch any pedals.
Press and hold start button until dashboard lights up fully...about ten seconds.

Push in and hold centre button on handbrake handle
Pull outer handle (basically you are manually releasing handbrake)
Hold for 5-10 seconds.
Operate handbrake normally.
Press start button to switch off and key card out.

That's it.
