Can any one help on this. My mate's 1999T 1.9 diesel megane scenic sometimes refuses to start after use?? it also has cut out a few times on the motorway and refused to start for half an hour?? i had this on a petrol megane that turned out to be a Top Dead Centre but he has been told that this doesn't affect the diesel. Any help would be appreciated as the garage is a bit stumped.

I would definately start with the Top Dead Centre sensor......

It is a very common problem and is a cheap and easy fix.Sometimes you can take them out and clean them as they are magnetic and attract any stray pieces of metal or filings that come from the clutch area and that can effect the signal given by it.:)

Hi,

I have the same problem and thought it may be the fuel pump. After a long journey my Scenic refuses to start, or coughs on long journeys. I think I now know what the problem may be...thanks.
