I have a 2000 megane 1.4 Classic.

Took it in for a service. Noticed it was using more oil than usual. Mechanic found that the sump plug is not tightening correctly...looks like a earlier service (not by the same guy) damaged the threads on the sump and oil is slowly seeping out.
Plug seems ok.

Renault, in true form are asking a crazy price of €350 (£300).

Any ideas where to get a replacement? new preferably...had a look on ebay, but there does not seem to be anything there at the moment...

If only the threads are damaged and there no other problems such as cracks, etc, it would be cheaper to have the threads in the sump heli-coiled. This can be done in situ., by someone with the appropraite kit.:)
