Any ideas how I can "turn up the brightness" on the dashboard ?
The middle section where the radio details are and outside temp ? pic
from handbook attached.

I can see all numerals clearly if i use a torch and shine onto display but without i cant see anything ?

does the handbook not tell you how to brighten the displays?

That's what I thought and I expected a grilling for it but not really is the answer.

The manual informs there is a main display (speedo etc ) dial that dims. this works but does not effect the middle display for radio .

the dial in the left does the speedo dimmer.

Easy to replace those bulbs, buy some reputable brand for replacement. the seatbelt warning light goes on mine as I don't wear a seat belt for medical reasons. Only 2 torx screws to remove the dash under the speaker covers. Lever off the cover gently with an old credit card, lower the steering wheel and the dash top slides out easily.
The wheel control on the lower switch panel does control the brightness of the central display, at least it does on my 2002 models. :)

No need to remove those extra screws, just the two under the speaker covers.

Tip to remove the bulbs from their holders as they are so small and difficult to hold, wrap some masking tape around the glass bulb and they will pull out easily, don't risk pliers and smashing the bulbs.
