The formula's rigged so that the answer is always a multiple of 9. Look at the results, and all of the possibilities are the same symbol. :d

Edit:

If the first digit is x and the second is y, then the formula is
10x+y-(x+y)
or
10x+y-x-y
or
9x

So the answer will always be a multiple of 9 between 0 and 81
