I only have 1 key for my Renault Clio, 2003, 1.2 dynamic. The key was left in a field for 24 hrs and so got full of mud and water. It's been cleaned out by the RAC but still doesn't work properly. If I open the car manaully with the key then it doesn't disable the immobiliser. But zapping the car open doesn't always work. I've been quoted £70 for a new key and £80 for coding the key by my local Renault dealer - any ideas how I can get hold of one cheaper?

Phone another dealer for a second quote, sounds a bit expensive.
My local dealer re-prog'd a card into our Laguna II £36
You could also try Ebay for another Key but make sure it's a NEW one and then get it cut and a dealer to code it.

does sound expensive to code it in. my dealership charges around 0.4hours labour which works out to bout £30 to code in a key on a clio

i only had one key for my new car and it worked when it felt like, i just got a new key from renault i phoned one they said 140 quid for the lot, phoned a diffrent one and they said 130 strange how a dealer 5 mins from diffrent one was 10 cheaper lol, you could get one from ebay but i been told they can not always be reprogrammed to a diffrent car so you may waste your money. if you get one from renault you need your logbook as.you get fob bit about 80 then they sent off for key bit already cut about 10 then they charge 40 quid to program it in
