What could be causing this oily area to my lag engine tried to find pics or engine layout to see what parts are in the area worried about turbo going etc any help much appreciated

A light film of oil in this area is not unusual on older engines. You'll need to remove the long black pipe for further investigation. Excessive oil inside the pipe usuallly denotes leaking turbo seals or excessive crankcase breather problems.

Have you checked the pipe going to the bottom of the intercooler for oil contamination?

Thanks for that though it does seem to be more than a thin film where is the turbo located and no I haven't checked the pipe I presume that's the black one to the right of the picture. Not to good with cars does it show but also don't want to take it to a garage and be had over did think it was turbo seals as there is a slight whistle everytime I change gear either way I best get it to the garage me thinks thanks again. Could I be looking at a big bill??
