Just had to have SCV valves done onmy 2005 Grand Es[ace 3.0d. Seems to be an archilles heel on this engine. Local "Diesel Specialist " quoted 20 plus hours labour !!! which effectively writes the car off.

I found Simply Saab from another post on this forum. A quick phone call confirmed they were happy to do the job, reckoning around 6 hours labour. Arranged to take car to Bristol. I have to say they were brilliant job done with no problem . I supplied valves ( £150 on line ) and the labour bill was £320.

Car now drives faultlessly

I have no hesitition recommending them to any ready having similar problems

Did mine myself it is quite easy. Remove plenum and egr valve along with injection manifold. If you still can’t access valves enough, inlet manifolds take about 20 minutes to remove giving total access to the bolts. SCV are £125 new on eBay now.
