Hi All just bought a W reg Laguna 3 weeks ago, lovely car to drive,
still coming the terms with the elecrtonics, like driving with one of the wheels missing, would you recommend an independent garage to change timing belt or go to the renault dealer? as prices seem a bit over the top at main dealers. the car has 35500 miles on clock::

Hi there pascoe and welcome to Renault Forums, I had my cam belt changed at an independant Renault specialist in the SW and was charged a total of £290 or there abouts for the cam belt and tensioner kit, labour and vat. I can't help you with an independant in the NE but I'm sure one of the members in your area will advise you. In the meantime if you click on the search button and type in 'Dealer and Garage recommendations' there should be a list of country wide garages that our members have used.
Regards Leroy

Are you sure it's a W reg?.That would make it a late Mk1 phase 2 which didn't have the tyre pressure sensors on it.You mention it shows only 3 wheels on the display?.

The cambelts are easily replaced by an independant dealer, although if it's a 16 valve petrol or a V6 there is a special locking kit needed which some garages don't have.Make sure they have it before you book it in.:)

Good luck with your new car.:)

If you have the Laguna 11 the cam belt Renault recommendation for renewing is 70,000 or every 5 years, Haynes manuals and as a lot of forum users do, recommend shortening those times.

For quicker help you need to put your cars full specification into your user CP so it appears on your posts.
