Hi. I have a 98 Renault scenic 2.0 auto and been having some major problems with the auto box.
We done a computer test and it comes up with the following message
connection between ECU A/T-engine engine torque coolant information" code 197

Can anyone help me find a solution

What did you use to scan it with?
What was the actual code?
What are the symptoms?

Scanned with snap on solous and the code was 197
Auto box goes into safe mode and does not let me go above 3rd gear.
But the next morning it goes back to normal.

Has it had a gearbox oil change?
Might be worth trying, especially as it's 13 years old.
A bit of moisture / water in the fluid can do all kinds of weird stuff to auto boxes and the sensors in them

We did a auto oil change about 7 months ago and it has been fine till 2 weeks ago.
My engine is miss firing aswell would this make any difference .?

I'd drain a bit off and make sure there is no water in it, especially with the word 'coolant' mentioned.
