My PROTON Savvy has the Twingo D4F engine fitted, in Malaysia, as a 'Boxed Part' - from France.

I have no AirCon & the 4grooved PS belt is running simply from the CrankPulley to the Pump... with an Idler/Tensioner wheel, running on the 'flat back' of the belt, directly under the PS pulley.

Does anyone know if this tensioner is on a screw thread (screw it in [to tighten] or out) or is it eccentric (with a big spring inside!) and needs to be turned to release tensioning.

PS Belt is:- 4K 908 8200041851

I'm assuming its just the same as non A/C Twingos....

I will change the Alt belt :- 3K 751 8200041848... at the same time, as it sits inside the PS belt, on the CrankPulley.

SO.... this is what I'm up against....

And you can see the Alternator Belt is mounted behind the PS Belt, so good plan to do both at the same time :d

hi
My guess would be to loosen the PS pump to get the belt off, as this idler - looks like idler.

Many thanks to the Poster [Recycled Scenic] - of the illustrating photos - above.

I have had confirmation (from a PROTON Dealer) that is, indeed, the way to 'lock' this Tensioner.

Any TWINGO (non A/C...) owners will find this useful
