I am looking for another pair of Barum tyres.It seems that the size I require 215x50x17x95 are no longer available they're not even listed on the Barum website 91's are available but I'd like to keep with the extra load tyres.
I'm now contemplating 225's? the rims are 7J and there is room in the wheel arches.

Available sizes are;
225x45x17x94
225x50x17x98

Not sure if I am correctly understanding the whole profile bit though.

215 x 50% = 107.5
225 x 50% = 112.5

Am I looking at 5mm difference ie the same as a new tyre (8mm) against a worn tyre (3mm)

Absolutely spot on - if I had to change size, I'd go for the '50-profile as its load rating is marginally higher than what's already on the car, plus a little extra sidewall will give a slightly comfier ride on our minefield of a road network.

Thanks for that link. I had pegged this company on previous searches for other tyres as being overpriced. On this occasion they do claim to have the tyres I am looking for, albeit £18 +fitting dearer .
